Buying Man Made Diamonds

Jewelries (joias) are an important addition to the attire and a wonderful complement to the over-all beauty of a person. They are not just mere objects worn to embellish the looks of a person; rather, they contribute substantially to the completeness of your personality.

There is nothing like wearing ornaments to a special occasion and inviting eyeballs towards you. Indeed, it is the jewelries (joias) that set you apart from others when you are in midst of a looks-conscious people. Among all jewelries worn around world, diamond jewelries have always been the best and most attractive one.

In the last few years, consumers have shifted their choice from natural diamond jewelries to man-made diamond jewelries (joias). The diamond jewelries market is literally crammed with several companies who offer different designs of diamond jewelries. However, there are a few names the industry reckons with, such as ASHA, CARAT, Russian Brilliants and Diamond Nexus Labs. Every company has its own policies for returns, exchanges and guarantees which are different from others. Hence, it is only imperative that the buyers check out the product specifications, features, terms and conditions before buying them. There are certain aspects that you have to take into consideration before buying diamond jewelries (joias):

Returns:
Different diamond jewelry companies have different policies with regard to returns of the purchased items (joias). Take a look at the following refund policies of some established companies:

Russian Brilliants - 7 days refund policy (minus shipping costs)
.
ASHA - 14 days from the day you receive your shipment.
CARAT - 30 days refund policy provided you notify them within 7 days of that you intend to return the shipment. Since this company is based in china, you will have to return your purchase to China.

Diamond Nexus Labs - It offers 30 days to inspect and enjoy your jewelry (joias). Moreover, this company, unlike CARAT and ASHA, allows returning your purchase even after using it.
Besides, both ASHA and CARAT will charge a 10% restocking fee. Incase you have bought the items from CARAT which is based in China, you have to deal with the customs. Further, any queries at your end can be answered only during Chinese business hours, i.e., when it is midnight in the USA. While Russian Brilliants (joias) are vague about their returns policies, Diamond Nexus Labs is the most liberal and has an extensive return policy with no hassles whatsoever.

Exchanges:
This is very important point to take note of. You should know the exchange policies of different diamond manufactures before buying diamond jewelry (joias). This is because some companies have strict exchange policies and procedures; hence, exchanging their products can give you a nightmarish experience. Let us know a bit about the exchange procedures of some of the leading names:

ASHA - It does not provide phone customer service. So, any questions must be submitted via email. However, it allows 14 days to its customers to submit an exchange.

CARAT - It has a phone customer service department to answer your queries. As far as the exchange is concerned, you have only 7 days to think and decide if you want an exchange or not. On the top of it, it will deduct a 10% restocking fee incase you want an exchange to take place.
Russian Brilliants - It has a phone customer service department to take care of the after-sales queries of the customers and it also allows you an exchange within 7 days.

Diamond Nexus Labs - It is the most liberal of them all. No fuss about processing your exchange which is free of charge. No hassle or re-stocking fee. What is more is it allows you a 30-day period to think and decide if you want to exchange it or not.

Ring Resizing:
Resizing might occur because of the weight loss or gain or even due to an error in size selection. Each of the companies that manufactures synthetic diamond ring (joias) has different policy regarding resizing the ring. Russian Brilliants does it for a small fee whereas CARAT has no clear resizing policy. Diamond Nexus resize your ring within 30 days of the purchase and free of charge. ASHA recommends its customers to resize their ring (joias) by any local dealer and if this is not possible then it will do it for you; however, it will charge $35 to size white gold and $55 for platinum.

Lifetime Warranty:
Customer service policies by different companies vary from each other and so does the lifetime warranty. Russian Brilliants and CARAT offer a lifetime warranty on their lab-created diamond products (joias) against color changes. ASHA has repelled its lifetime warranty offer of late claiming that some customers were trying to return products even though the damage had taken place due to customers` or jewelers` negligence. Diamond Nexus guarantees a free replacement in the event of any fade, discolor, damage of Diamond Nexus Labs gemstone. Moreover, it also ensures a free replacement if the stone (joias) is ever lost from its setting.

The Art of Organic Jewelry by Ketut Aryadana

The Art of Organic Jewelry by Ketut Aryadana
The Art of Organic Jewelry
If gold and silver jewelry is too expensive, then organic jewelry can provide the same decoration for a much cheaper price. Organic jewelry started from the Native Americans by using connecting simple seashells together. Today, organic jewelry has evolved into a major role in the fashion industry. The most popular type of organic jewelry today would be in the form of pearls.
Where do pearls come from? Pearls come from an irritation in an oyster's shell. The irritation is then covered with calcium carbonate which after many years turns into a pearl. Pearls were first used for jewelry by the Native Americans that first settled the land. Thousands of years later, they are now considered a must-have fashion accessory.
Pearls are used in many forms of jewelry including Necklaces, bracelets, and rings.
Pearl necklaces are very popular, and they come in a variety of forms such as Bib, Choker, Matinee, Opera, Princess, and Rope.
Pearl bracelets also work very well as fabulous fashion accessories. The classic single strand of different pearls can be used to match any outfit.
You can never go wrong with a pearl ring. A gorgeous pearl ring set with gold or sterling silver will made any woman happy.
If pearls are not your thing, there are many other forms of organic jewelry such as bamboo and hardwood. Bamboo is not considered a type of wood, but is instead a type of grass. There are many types of bamboo that are yellow, tan, green, brown, and even purple providing a great fashion accessory. The most common use of bamboo for organic jewelry is earrings. Although they are relatively easy to take care for, the wearer has to re oil the earring periodically for easy insertion. If you like designs, bamboos can have great designs burnt in them. The best part is that bamboo earrings only cost around fifteen dollars.
A more expensive alternative to bamboo is actual hardwood. Wood plugs are usually hand crafted and each piece is unique. Plugs work best on dry areas of the body like ears and might cause an allergic reaction. Like bamboo, hardwood jewelry has to be re oiled from time to time. Common oils used are olive oil, peanut oil, and jojoba oil. There are six major types of wood used for jewelry: Chakte Kok, Chechon, Ebony, Granadillo, Katalox and Maple each of these a different color.
ChakteKok is a glowing reddish yellow and is lightweight. Chechen is brown and gives a natural look. Ebony is black and is the heaviest. Grandillo is dark brown. Katalox is very dark brown and is almost black. Katalox is the rarest type and is hard to obtain. Maple is light brown and is almost yellow.
If you're interested in wood plugs, they come in many different shapes: Saddle shaped, cylinder shaped, flared, nail shaped, taper shaped, and spike shaped. When ordering wood plugs, you must specify in diameter and length. These are just a few examples of modern organic jewelry. There are many other types of organic jewelry including bones, horns, stone, and amber. While each type of organic jewelry is different, they all serve as a great alternative to expensive silver and gold jewelry.

Diamond is Forever and Eternity by Herman Tumurcuoglu

Diamond is Forever and Eternity by Herman Tumurcuoglu
Diamond is perceived as the most precious of all precious stones and is peerless. It is a woman's best friend and a symbol of love. It shines and glitters and symbolizes purity and strength.
In ancient times, a diamond was considered to be a sign of magic, sanctity, healing, energy, happiness, beauty, and longevity when used, but the saying goes that a diamond is poison when consumed. It was known for its goodness and power to remove all evil. In today's world, a diamond is regarded as a status symbol, an ornament of beauty worn by the rich and depicts a luxurious lifestyle.
A diamond is forever. You would have heard this. The reason for this saying is because it is the hardest natural material and very difficult to break. It is also a good conductor of heat and a nonconductor of electricity. It is another form of dark carbon.
Time was when diamond jewelry was only seen in royal portraits or in the beautifully designed catalogues and books. Today, sales of diamonds have taken a dramatic upward turn with branded diamond jewelry being available to millions of women. This treasured stone of romance and power has become very popular over the centuries.
A diamond is available in all shapes and colors, in fact more so than other gems. The weight measurement of a diamond is the 'carat'. The larger the diamond, the more the carat. Big sized diamonds are a rarity and the value increases as the size gets bigger.
Diamond jewelry is the most expensive types of jewelry. Diamond pendants and rings are a craze, especially engagement rings. Diamonds are usually set in gold, white gold, silver, or platinum, the latter being more expensive. The combination of pearls and diamonds is a delight to the eyes.
"The rarest things in the world, next to a spirit of discernment, are diamonds and pearls." By ~Jean de la Bruyere
There are several innovative ways that diamonds are being used, which includes imbedding them in watches too. These watches though expensive are a great gift for big occasions for loved ones when you are on the lookout for expensive gifts.
Grading of diamonds is something the one needs to know. The colors are graded from D to Z, with the lesser color being higher in value. Color D is the rarest and is colorless with a blue tinge. Since colors filter light, the reflected light is less than a colorless diamond.
For the sake of some light hearted talk on diamonds, lets delve into some superstitions that were prevalent earlier on. Diamonds that have a red or yellow hue were thought to be good for a king, because they were considered auspicious. The white hued diamond was said to be perfect for anything religious or spiritual. The yellow hued one was said to be the one for prosperity and success. Black hue was thought to be suitable for those that are in smaller jobs. Women who wanted to give birth to sons were asked to wear a white diamond with a small black hue. It was also stressed that one should never wear a blemished diamond as it brings bad luck to the person wearing it. All these may sound like unbelievable superstitions to the nonbeliever, but these were followed quite strictly earlier. But then if you go to see, even in the modern world, in some countries, many people will not wear a diamond unless they get it checked to see if it is the right one for them.
Interesting facts aren't they. A diamond has an indescribable aura surrounding it, and it is fascinating to learn about it.

Tanzanite - tips for purchasing Tanzanite online by Antony Zagoritis

Tanzanite - tips for purchasing Tanzanite online by Antony Zagoritis
Tanzanite has become one of the world's most sought after gemstones. It is possible these days, to purchase Tanzanite in a myriad of different places and mediums in this age of communication. One of the more recent and possibly most risky of places is the internet. It offers up a virtual cacophony of opportunities to purchase this much revered gemstone but no benchmark as to what is a good buy and what is not. This article endeavours to arm the reader with a working knowledge of what they should be looking for when attempting to buy a Tanzanite, either on the internet or in a more traditional setting such as a jewelry store.
When purchasing Tanzanite there are several main factors you need to consider - these are the 4 c's - Colour, Clarity, Carat Weight and Cut.
COLOUR
Colour is the most important of the 4 C's when considering Tanzanite quality. It can also be one of the most confusing aspects as you surf the web as so many different sites use different terms/grading systems and it is difficult to effectively compare one with another.
COLOUR GRADING SYSTEM
There is only one universally accepted official grading system for coloured gems and that is the GIA system (Gemological Institute of America). However, there are numerous trade based systems as you will see when surfing the web. The majority of these are very subjective and vary widely. One of the terms commonly used (and misused) in the trade is AAA Tanzanite. This is a term used by the miners to denote the very top grade of Tanzanite - the very deeply saturated exceptional stones. Only 1% of all Tanzanite is this grade and this very deep colour saturation is very hard to come by.
The GIA grade for these Tanzaites is bV 6/5 and vB 6/5. As color is such a visual medium I cannot give an adequate synopsis of the different color grades in this article but there is a very useful resource on this website by clicking on the "The 4 C's of Tanzanite" link on this page: Tanzanite Color Resource you will be treated to a multimedia presentation using moving pictures which will give you a very good visual exposure to what to look for in terms of color in Tanzanite. I will now move on to the second most important consideration - clarity.
CLARITY
Clarity is the second most important of the 4 c's when considering Tanzanite quality. Clarity simply refers to how inclusion-free a gemstone is. Once again, the most universally accepted and most documented system is the GIA system but there are also numerous other trade based systems in use. The basic rule with Tanzanite is that it should be at least eyeclean but preferably loupeclean too. Top stones are loupeclean. Below is a chart showing the GIA clarity grading system.
VVS VS SI1 SI2 I1-3
VVS: This is the top grade in the GIA system. Tanzanite is classed by the GIA as a "Type 1" gem which means it is graded very strictly. Stands for Very very slightly included and whilst most VVS Tanzanites are flawless they can contain minute inclusions which are difficult to see with a loupe (10x magnification) and invisible to the unaided eye. Typical minute inclusions may be very fine needles, tiny hairline feathers, very faint clouds and percussion marks.
VS: This stands for Very Slightly Included and these stones are characterised by minor inclusions which are somewhat easy to see under 10x magnification but usually invisible to the unaided eye. Typical inclusions may be small included crystals, liquid inclusions, fine needles, small feathers
SI1 - SI2: This stands for Slightly Included and these stones are characterised by noticeable inclusions which are apparent under 10x magnification. In SI1 they are usually visible and SI2 quite visible to the unaided eye. Typical inclusions are included crystals, large liquid inclusions, feathers, dense clouds.
I1-I2-I3: The lowest grade. Stands for Imperfect. These stones are characterised by inclusions that have a negative effect on either appearance, durability or both. At I1 there is a moderate effect on either factor, I2 a severe effect on either factor and I3 a severe effect on both factors.
In terms of Tanzanite, a top stone must be VVS. Any lesser clarity grade will affect the value downwards and denotes a lower grade stone.
CARAT WEIGHT
Tanzanites exist even in the 100+ carat range but these are rare. Generally stones are in the below 1 - 10 carat range. Carat weight affects the price generally as weight increases stones in the same quality bracket will cost more per carat.
CUT
Although it has the least impact on value of the 4 C's cut is still important. In the market, tanzanites are found in a variety of shapes and cutting styles. Ovals and cushions are the most common, but rounds are also seen, as are other shapes, including emerald cuts, trillions, etc. Cabochon-cut tanzanites are not often seen. Cuts should be proportional - you don't want to pay for a stone with alot of weight in the pavilion for example when this weight will be invisible in a setting.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
FAKES / SYNTHETICS / IMITATIONS : Tanzanite has never been synthesized, but a number of imitations exist. The most common is blue-violet glass. A synthetic fosterite has also been used as an imitation and is known as Tanzanique in the trade. It has a lower RI than Tanzanite and does not have the same pleochroism so is easily distinguished from the real thing. However, laymen can easily be fooled so always buy from a reputable dealer, preferably a member of the ICA (International Colored Gemstone Association) which has a strict code of ethics.
ENHANCEMENTS: Virtually all gem tanzanite of a blue violet color has been heat-treated to enhance the color. In the rough state most Tanzanite is predominantly brown. Heating at 500 to 600 degrees centigrade causes this colour to change to blue. This is a permanent and stable change.
LIGHTING: A great deal of Tanzanite marketing makes a big deal of the "red flash" phenomenon of Tanzanite. This is one of the features of the stone and is due to Tanzanite's trichroism. Tanzanite is extremely light sensitive, with incandescent lighting (yellow lighting found in common light bulbs) tending to shift its color to the violet side causing the red and pink flashes to appear within the stone.
WHAT IS BLOCK D TANZANITE?: Block D Tanzanite is a term commonly used in marketing Tanzanite. Block D simply refers to the area from which material is mined. The Tanzanite mining area has been divided into 4 blocks by the Tanzanian government - Blocks A to D. Traditionally, larger quantities of the best material was found in block D so the term became synonymous with the top grade. However, it has become a bit of a marketing ploy recently and is a term misused as it implies that only block D produces the AAA grade. This is not the case - AAA comes from all blocks, block D has traditionally just produced more of it than the others. It is best to ignore the term as it is simply a marketing ploy and it is largely misused. It is better to use more scientific and official grades like the GIA system than to rely on subjective trade terms.
This article has tried to cover all the main points that should be taken into account when buying Tanzanite. Undoubtedly there will be others I have missed but if these basic tenets are adhered to and understood, the minefield of Tanzanite purchase should be a safer place.

Christmas Ideas for Your Wife by Melissa Peterman

Christmas Ideas for Your Wife by Melissa Peterman
Christmas Ideas for Your Wife
A lot of times, men and women wait until the last minute to get their Christmas shopping done. With so many amazing websites offering great gift ideas online, there is a time line where one can no longer send gifts and expect them to arrive by Christmas time. If shoppers paid a little bit of attention to the postman's calendar when thinking about gift purchases, more gifts may be delivered on time. With those of you out there who get all of your Christmas shopping done ahead of time, I applaud you as many of you are strictly online shoppers and know how long it can take to have a gift delivered.
Shopping online helps you avoid the malls, parking and cranky shoppers. Returning gifts have never been easier when you can pop the gift right back into the mail and await a return that way verses, getting in your car, driving through traffic, waiting in line to return your item and of course, dealing with the mall.
Some top websites out there sell jewelry, clothes, camping equipment and toys. I know you are thinking that crazy two-sided spatula you are bidding $15 for on E-bay seems like the winner of Christmas morning- you may like to get some advice.
For Christmas ideas for your wife, I'd like to suggest the jewelry websites. Plenty of sites sell timeless classics like sterling silver charm bracelets, journey pendants and diamond pendants . Most of them offer amazing guarantees and will ship before Christmas as long as you order before a certain date. These sites are a perfect way to shop and see the items in a virtual catalog setting. Many times you are able to have a virtual chat with the seller or a salesperson about the item online. You can ask advice and how it's sized as if you were in the store talking with the person. Some smaller more independent sites may not have the ability to chat online with you, but you are almost always able to email the seller questions.
While you are searching, you may stumble across more two sided spatulas and remote control vacuum cleaners, but you may get more of the reaction you are looking for if you get something else- something that means "you will look gorgeous" wearing this! Something a little different than the classic sterling silver charm bracelets, journey pendants and diamond pendants is the mystic fire topaz ring! A very unique type of stone, the mystic fire topaz is inspired by a natural topaz stone and then chemically altered with coded atoms, giving it a shiny rainbow look of colors. This unique stone looks gorgeous on a ring, necklace, toe ring, and earrings. Because this stone isn't seen everywhere, your wife will really appreciate the fact that you went out of your way to find her something special.
If you love the idea of jewelry and you do want it to be unique, you may want to look at beautiful turquoise jewelry as a solution to what makes the perfect Christmas gift for your wife. Turquoise jewelry dates back to the ancient Egyptians and is commonly seen today on clothing, shoes and jewelry.
Since it is Christmas after all, you may want to embrace the Christian spirit and give your wife Christian jewelry. A gold cross or an angle diamond pendant will have her wearing her new piece of jewelry long after Christmas is over.
Forget the pots and pans, the "do-it-all" chopper- your wife would really like someone else to clean up around the house and take her out to dinner. She would like the two sided spatula just fine, but in her heart and yours- you both know that a magical mystic fire topaz ring is a more romantic choice.

10 Tips for Giving Her an Unforgettable Valentine's Day by Janette Vince

10 Tips for Giving Her an Unforgettable Valentine's Day by Janette Vince
It's Valentine's Day--and you're looking to make this one special for your wife or girlfriend. Valentine's Day is often not a difficult holiday for guys. Most women love chocolates, flowers, and dinner at a nice restaurant. But if you want to spice things up a bit, read on. There are plenty of ways to get creative and original with your Valentine's Day plans--and surprise her with something she's not expecting. Here are ten tips for making this Valentine's Day one she'll never forget.
Name a star. What's more romantic than naming a star after your beloved? Most star-naming companies will give you a beautiful naming certificate, a constellation chart showing the location of your star, and other extras all contained in a beautiful presentation box. This is a highly romantic gift that's sure to bring a smile to her face.
A romantic picnic. Why not put a spin on your typical romantic dinner with an adventurous picnic? Meet her at work and whisk her away to a secluded, romantic spot with a bottle of champagne and some gourmet take-out from a local restaurant. Light some candles and have a picnic in the living room--complete with soft music and romantic ambience. She'll love the spontaneous feel of this dinner date.
Take her shopping. If she loves to shop, she'll appreciate this thoughtful gift. Take her on a shopping spree at her favorite store. Spend time shopping with her, and be engaged. Suggest clothes for her to try, make suggestions for stores, and be sure to shower her with complements whenever she tries something flattering on! If you really want to make her happy, hire a personal shopper to take her out for a day. She's sure to feel more than a little spoiled.
Give a spa gift. If the woman in your life is overstressed and under-pampered, she's probably overdue for a day at the spa. Why not get her a gift certificate for the full treatment at a local health spa? Get her a full massage, mud bath, skin treatments, anything you'd think she would appreciate. She's sure to feel pampered and loved with a gift like this.
Adopt an animal. We're not suggesting you bring home a puppy or kitten--although that might be a good idea too. If your wife or girlfriend is an animal lover, why not "adopt" an endangered animal in her name? Some animal refuges allow people to donate money to support a specific animal, providing for its care and feeding for a certain amount of time. When you adopt an animal, you'll get a picture of the animal, updates on its health and status, and even a framed adoption certificate. Definitely a great gift for a woman who loves animals.
Bedroom board games. If you're often both too tired to do more than sleep in the bedroom lately, she might appreciate a little night-time attention on Valentine's Day. Why not make things a little more interesting? Pick up an adult board game like Monogamy, a sexy game that opens with some intriguing conversation starters, and then advances the intimacy until you can't help but get close. It's just the thing to liven it up in the bedroom--and give her a memorable Valentine's Day treat.
Jewelry. Yes, we know diamonds are a traditional Valentine's Day jewelry gift. And most women love diamonds, so it's a relatively safe gift. But why not get a little creative with your jewelry choice this year?
This type of gift requires some consideration--you'll have to pay attention to the type of jewelry she loves. Look at what she wears. Some women only wear gold or silver, and some like large, bold pieces while others like a more delicate or antique look. Once you've got her style down, pick a stone that she'll love--many women have a special place in their hearts for opals, emeralds, or amethysts. This is sure to show you know her tastes--and she'll definitely feel loved.
Dance lessons. Why not take her out for a night of dancing? Women love men who are willing to get out on the dance floor as well. Book salsa lessons, tango lessons, or ballroom dancing together. She'll love the romantic ambience, and you're sure to get ample opportunities to show off your moves--both on the dance floor and off.
Marketers traditionally emblazon everything from underwear to shot glasses with red hearts to sell them on Valentine's Day. But that doesn't mean everything with a heart on it is a good gift for the occasion. Put some thought and planning into your next Valentine's Day gift, and don't be afraid to get creative. She's sure to remember it as the best Valentine's Day she's ever had.

Earlier, it was so expensive that only the aristocrats or the very rich could afford it, but now as with everything else, it is more within reach for the common man too, although it is costlier compared to other gems.
Diamond jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes. There are engagement rings, wedding rings, ear rings, chains, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, diamonds set in various metals like gold, silver, white gold, and platinum, jewelry combined with other precious gems, and a host of other jewelry.
Diamonds are very valuable, especially the ones that are finely cut. Learning about them helps in giving one the ability to choose when it is time to buy this precious stone. Diamond jewelry is considered to be an investment of a lifetime. To help determine the quality of the diamond jewelry you are buying, you need to understand the four C's.
The four C's are the cut, clarity, carat weight, and color. These control a diamond's appearance. The cut of a diamond does not mean the shape. When you hear gemologists say 'cut', they are referring to the proportions of the gemstone, like the width, depth and uniformity. These are the characteristics of a diamond that affect the durability and brilliance of a diamond, and this is what people look for when buying diamond jewelry. The clarity of the diamond jewelry means the perfectly clear stones. This flawless stone is very rare to find and when found will be very expensive. But then, when you are buying diamond jewelry, these flaws are not seen with the naked eye unless you use a magnifying glass. Carat weight is the size of the diamond. The diamond jewelry or loose diamonds are priced based on the carat weight. Color of a diamonds are graded from D-Z. The ones from D-F are colorless and from G-J, they are almost colorless. The color is comprehensible to the naked eye only from I or J.
Buying diamond jewelry is one thing and wondering if you bought a good one is another. The above guidelines should help you in deciding whether what you are buying is worth the investment or not.
I know the general notion that diamonds are tough and you can handle your diamond jewelry the way you want. That is not true. You do need to take care of your diamond jewelry for it to last a lifetime. Although diamond is one of the strongest metal on earth, it can still chip with a hard hit. Clean your diamond jewelry with ammonia and water using a very soft brush. Make sure that you don't discolor the metal. Perspiration, lotions, and other cleaners can dull the stones. Store diamond jewelry in velvet pouches to avoid scratching.
Diamond jewelry is the ultimate in adornments and understanding a little about it makes it easier to buy and enjoy it. Jewelry made with this precious gemstone does not compare with anything else and stands out in a crowd. Show off your diamond jewelry and enjoy the feeling of elation.

Jewely The Origination Of by Herman Tumurcuoglu

Jewely The Origination Of by Herman Tumurcuoglu
Jewelry is ornaments of precious metals worn to beautify ourselves. It is an art form that lures people and attracts people of all ages. Heirloom jewels are passed on from parents to the next generation. Such is the bond that jewelry creates in the hearts of people who believe in looking beautiful.
The word 'jewelry' is derived from the French word 'jouel'. The earliest form of jewelry was made from shells that were made into beads. Jewelry of our ancestors was made from materials such as animal teeth, shells, wood, stone, bones of animals etc. They used all natural materials. It was worn by people of high stature and even after death, the jewelry went into the grave with them. You would have seen archaeologists discover skeletons from the past with jewelry on their body.
With passage of time, jewelry was made from synthetic materials too. Although, primarily gold, silver, white gold, platinum remain the more sought after metals to be used in the making or ornaments. Precious gemstones like diamond, emerald, ruby, sapphire etc. are also embedded into the metal to make the ornaments even better looking.
Costume jewelry is something that's made of synthetic materials like plastic, ivory, wood, glass etc. Fashion jewelry is cheap and easy to buy and there is a craze for it amongst teenagers, who can just pick up a piece with their pocket money.
Wearing jewelry made with costly metals and precious stones such as diamonds is considered a sign of wealth and prosperity. Some people buy precious jewelry as an investment for the future. They know that the value can only increase.
Jewelry over the ages has come to become an important part of a special occasion; in fact it is an essential part in some occasions like engagements and weddings. In the West, an engagement ring and a wedding are the quint essentials in performing these ceremonies. Similarly, there is no Indian Hindu Wedding without a mangalasutra, which is the sacred thread worn in the neck.
Jewelry comes in all shapes and sizes, chains, necklaces, chokes, finger rings, wrist bands, bracelets, waist bands, leg chains, ear studs, earrings and name it and you have it. All these again come as plain jewelry with nothing but gold or silver etc., or embedded with precious gemstones. Again, depending on the quality of the metal used or the weight of the stone, from the most expensive to the least expensive, diamond jewelry being the most expensive and most sought after. You even have watches with gold and precious stones, like diamonds.
With such a varied choice, how can you restrict a woman from wanting more to make her look beautiful or for that matter, how can a man contain himself. From ancient times, jewelry has been synonymous for both men and women equally. Diamond watches are in vogue with men right now and they are made to show off a man's masculinity.
For those of you that appreciate jewelry, there are no bounds. Pick something within your budget and enjoy the pleasure it affords and the beauty that becomes your own.

Body Jewelry for Sale by Jerry Durham

Body Jewelry for Sale by Jerry Durham
Would you like to find out what those-in-the-know have to say about body jewelry? The information in the article below comes straight from well-informed experts with special knowledge about body jewelry.
The world of fashion is composed of two things namely; clothes and accessories. One of the many accessories the person may choose to have is a bag to hold on some stuff and jewelry.
Traditionally, these things come in the form of an earring, a necklace or a bracelet. Lately, there is a new trend and this involves putting jewelry on one's body.
Body jewelry is seldom sold in the department store. This is perhaps because most of the customers are quite conservative. The customer will have to visit tattoo or body piercing shops or check these out in some carts located in the mall.
There are many types of body jewelry readily available. The person can get this for the nipples, the nose, the tongue and the navel. These accessories are not only for women since some men have also purchased it to be part of the crowd.
There are two ways for this to stay on the body. The first will be after someone pierces it to the skin. The other will stay there with the help of a magnet.
Is one better than the other? The answer will depend on who will be the one using it and what occasion will be this worn for.
The best time to learn about body jewelry is before you're in the thick of things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable body jewelry experience while it's still free.
The prices of these products vary depending on the material that was used. Gold and platinum are the most expensive with silver, titanium, glass and plastic that will cater to the lower end of the market.
If a certain type of body jewelry is not available, some customers may be fortunate enough to find this online. Those that are not happy with what is in the display case can come up with a design and then have this made. Before buying it, the customer should look at it in the mirror to see if this looks good.
There are some people who think that body jewelry is very strange. That may the opinion of those who may not like it but it has not stopped some celebrities from having some fun.
Take for example Melanie Brown, a former spice girl who has a piece of body jewelry pierced in the tongue. Another woman that was featured in one talk show were Janet Jackson who had the same thing done but this time by the nipples.
There are so many other celebrities that have done the same thing. When asked if it hurt, most of these people said yes. Why do people do it? Some say this is one of the trends of living in the digital age prompting others to explore new things.
Studies show that sales in body jewelry have gone up in recent years. One reason is perhaps because a lot of people look up to celebrities as role models. If someone has a fan club and decides to use body jewelry, other people will follow soon and have this either pierced or clipped in places that surprise some would never even dream of it.
Should everyone go down to the store and get one? This depends on the person. Some find it cool while others don't. Choosing to buy this piece of accessory is just another way of expressing one's individuality. There are other ways of expressing it and this makes everyone a little different.
There's a lot to understand about body jewelry. We were able to provide you with some of the facts above, but there is still plenty more to write about in subsequent articles.

Find Your Niche With A Gem Stone Home Based Business by Will Moore

Find Your Niche With A Gem Stone Home Based Business by Will Moore
People are making money selling precious and semiprecious Gemstones stones from home. If this is not new information to you; good for you. If you're like me and you are looking for profitable online home based business opportunities listen up.
Gemstones are used in many applications from industrial diamonds to decorative jewelry. Search engine results for the word gemstone return a wide variety of dealers. But if you use Google's keyword tool you find there are several possible subcategories of interest that may turn out to be a great home based business niche.
Over 50 species of minerals can be cut into gemstones for common use. From birthstones, to raw stones there are wide varieties of stone selections. Amethyst gemstone is a frequently searched keyword phrase that has very little websites competing for it. Something like this would be a great start for niche research.
If you look at some of the websites that sell precious stones, you notice that most try to educate the consumer. Stone saturation, hue, and color are the basics of determining the quality of the stone.
You can find a profitable Internet Marketing niche through advertising or through you're own Gemstone home based business. If you do decide to pursue gemstone, sales as your home based business find out who your competition is. You are no competition for those in the commercial rough cut stone industry. The circle of "seasoned" dealers and jewelers is tight and people have to pay their dues to get in. If you try to compete with seasoned professionals, you will be stressed over how difficult it is to sell stones and even more at how small the profits are.
A great niche for Gemstones would be "custom designed jewelry" with custom cut stones. With the way jewelry has been in the public eye people are always looking for something unique.
Another good niche is one of a kind stones. If you find one of a kinds or limited quantity stones, you can set your price. People that know their stones are less likely to bargain if they know what you have hasn't flooded the market.
Build a reputation for one of a kind jewelry designs and continue to let the industry see your work. If you want to trade commercial rough-cut stones you may want to sell parcels (these too should be stones in limited supply). There are numerous Internet forums strictly for Gemstone dealers and traders. Become a member of as many general and stone specific forums as you can and post daily with your website link in your signature.
Online gemstone dealing is not much different from any other online business in the area of website optimization. You will still need people to visit your website so it would be wise to use as many optimization strategies as possible; one being marketing via articles. Writing 500+ word articles about gemstones and posting them to numerous article directories will over time create backlinks to your website. If your article content is interesting enough (which it will be) it will create traffic to your website. In some cases others will use your article on their website also. With added website traffic you are able to incorporate affiliate sales, pay per click advertisements, etc as well as selling your own product.
Dealing in gemstones is another terrific online business opportunity that over time will generate an income that could allow anyone earn a substantial full or part-time living.

The Wholesale Distribution Business Guide to Sales by Jorge Olson

The Wholesale Distribution Business Guide to Sales by Jorge Olson
When you are selling products through different channels you have to know your customers and how they sell and what they sell. While you want to be able to provide as many customers as many products as you can - you can't sell everything. By learning about the various kinds of wholesale distributors that there are, you can find out where you may be able to step into the business.
This article will focus on the two most basic forms of distribution or channels; the ones that sell to the "end user" and the ones that sell to use by other businesses. Those that sell consumer products are much greater in number and are often where many people begin their wholesale business. Those that sell consumer products act as a go between for retailers and the manufacturers of the products. In the industrial wholesale business, you would act as the intermediary for manufacturers and industry service providers.
Consumer goods wholesalers might work with products such as apparel, jewelry, beauty products, shoes, and electronics. Things like groceries and paper products are also considered to be smaller goods that do not fall into an industrial category. These are generally the products that you find in stores and online. A customer would be able to simply go to the retailers that you are selling these items to, and then purchase the items. You would also see these kinds of products on Internet auction sites - such as eBay.
Industrial or "business to business" goods are larger profit items, but also require more effort on the wholesaler's part. Products could be raw materials, chemicals, production or manufacturing equipment, etc. Items such as building supplies or manufacturing raw materials can also be part of this category. You could also establish a motor vehicle parts business or work with petroleum products. Likewise, you could also sell lumber and other construction necessities. These items tend to be larger in quantity as well as size, requiring the wholesaler to have a larger storage space as well as equipment to move them from their warehouse to the retailer.
While the industrial goods wholesale business requires more effort, it will also reap a larger profit. However, it can be confusing when you are first establishing yourself as a wholesaler. With such large and complicated items, you may not feel as confident at pricing the products or even relating information to the retailers. If you are just starting a business you could start with nitch products that are more difficult to find, that way you are not competing in price and inventory will not be an issue. And once you begin to make a profit from your initial business, then you can move into the larger goods.
If you already have a background in larger goods, you may find that dealing with retailers that want to purchase these kinds of goods is an easier task than most. And with the proper research and time, you can become successful in passing on your knowledge to others - making yourself a profit in the process.
No matter what kind of products you sell or what kind of channel you target you always have to learn and know all distribution and sales channels. Try to learn as much as you can about your customers. It does not matter if they are a manufacturer, a distributor, retailer or the end user. Channels such as convenience stores, supermarkets, beverage distributors, cash and carry, OEM's, etc.

8 Simple Misconceptions Of Credit Explained

8 Simple Misconceptions Of Credit Explained by Leonel Avalos

There are a lot of erroneous information over Credit realted matter out there.

So the problem is how do is sift through the right informative material, that is the question.

Well we hope the following can add some clarity to many misconceptions over credit:

1. Payment of my debts will make my credit report Crystal clear instantly .

No not Exactly. They have to be in the timely matter agreed upon signing of Credit obligation.

A credit report is a history of your payments, not just a snapshot of where you are at the moment, says Maxine Sweet, vice president of public affairs for Experian, one of the three major credit reporting agencies.

As the author of the popular Web column "Ask Max," she continuously reminds people that you can't change the past. Credit counseling always destroys my credit score.

Attending a credit counselor's debt management program is not considered negative in the scoring models.

However, if the credit counselor negotiates a lesser contractual obligation, the lender decides how it wants to report that.

So if your $500 monthly payment is refigured for $300, the creditor may either legally report that as $200 in arrears every month or reward you for not filing bankruptcy by reporting the account as up to date.

Although credit counseling does not by itself influence your credit score, it is apparent on the report that you've been through, or are currently in, counseling -- and that is something individual lenders may not like. Or they might never know.

Too many Open accounts spells available, potential debt, so better to close them, runs the legend.

But experts agree that most creditors want to see at least two or three pieces of active credit to prove you can manage debt responsibly.

And, Watts chimes in, those unused cards lying in your jewelry box aren't wreaking havoc with your score.

"The myth is that they look ominous to potential lenders," he says. "Reality is that paying your bills on time and not being overextended is more important than having $5,000 worth of available credit on a card you're not using.

We continue to evaluate this 'total credit limits' statistic, and we simply don't find it falling into one of those highly predictive areas."

On the other hand, extremes never look good. Opening one charge account occasionally to take advantage of a 10 percent offer is negligible. Going wild and signing up for five during the holiday season probably would invite a decreased score, he says.

2. Alot of inquiries hurt my score.

Once upon a time, this statement was true. But get with the times -- in this millennium, the credit agencies recognize a shopping mind-set when they see one. If a batch of mortgage or car loan inquiries arrives within 30 days, it doesn't count at all, Watts says.

"Outside that 30-day period, if we locate a mortgage or car inquiry that occurred 180 days ago, and then see more mortgage- or auto-related hits in the accompanying 14-day window, we err on the consumer's side and still assume she's shopping for one item," he says.

"We really feel like we are capturing the true consumer experience and not holding it against them for being an aggressive or smart rate shopper."

3. Checking my own credit report harms my standing.

The reporting agencies distinguish between soft and hard pulls. When Target calls to check before issuing its line of credit, the agencies chalk that up as a hard pull and it counts against your score. Personal requests and credit counselors -- if they do it correctly, so insist on this as part of your agreement terms -- fall under soft pulls, which do not reflect negatively on the evaluation.

Using a company that promises credit reports as a perk can turn this myth into a self-fulfilling prophecy, however, McNaughton says.

Because they are merchants in disguise, their freebie costs you. Citizens must go directly to the three bureaus if they want a soft pull. Ditto FICO.

"Pulling your credit scores is quite empowering," says Watts. "You have a choice: You can either be very aggressive with your credit management and pull your score with some regularity or take a more passive approach once a year to see how all those credit cards are actually doing."

4. Credit scores are locked in for six months.

Fair Isaac Corp.'s models are dynamic, meaning that your FICO score changes as soon as data on your credit report change.

"When we calculate a score, for all intents and purposes it then goes away and is recalculated the next time someone pulls your file," says Watts.

5. I don't need to check my credit report if I pay my bills on time.

It is prudent to monitor your Credit report on a monthly Basis.

When the Consumer Federation of America and the National Credit Reporting Association analyzed credit scores in the summer of 2002, they discovered that 78 percent of the files were missing a revolving account in good standing, while 33 percent of files lacked a mortgage account that had never been late. Twenty-nine percent contained conflicting information on how many times the consumer had been 60 days late on payments.

"There can be a lot of other activity going on that you don't have any clue about.

Over 85 percent of all credit reports have erroneous information ranging from a wrong birth date to accounts you never applied for.

6. All credit reports are the same.

Way wrong. These days, most creditors across the country do report their information to all three major agencies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

And, because they are separate companies, the speed in which they update records isn't necessarily equal.

7. Bad news comes off in seven years.

Some of it does. Chapter 13 (reorganization of debt) disappears seven years from the filing date. But if you filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy (exoneration of all debt), the window is 10 years from the filing date.

On the good-news side, accounts in bankruptcy can be deleted seven years after the date of your first missed payment, so those individual pieces may disappear before the word "bankruptcy" on your report. And if you pay off or close an account that had no delinquencies or problems, it, too, remains on the record for 10 years rather than the previous seven, say Experian experts. Again, this means positive information hangs around longer, as a consumer benefit.

8. I can always pay someone to fix or repair my credit.

Yes, you can clear up erroneous information posted to your account, such as a repossessed car that you didn't purchase in the first place, but if you paid your Sears bill three months late in 1997, that's a hard fact.

Companies claiming to fix your credit deliver on their promises by generating a flood of dispute letters to the credit reporting agencies, which in turn ask the creditor to verify or document the entry. If they cannot, the listing must come off at that time. But if the creditor later does verify or document it, the agency slaps it right back into the file after 30 days.

Historic Mount Vernon Reintroduces George Washington

Historic Mount Vernon Reintroduces George Washington by Group Travel

Two buildings currently under construction are set to revolutionize the visitor experience at George Washingtons historic estate. The Ford Orientation Center and the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center are the major components of a $95 million campaign by George Washingtons Mount Vernon to restore The Father of His Country to his rightful place of honor and distinction in America. The state-of-the-art buildings will shed light on different chapters of Washingtons life including early adulthood, military leadership, and his presidency. The new facilities will open by the end of 2006.

All of our visitors will benefit from these exciting new buildings, but groups will be especially affected with a new ticket entrance and visitor amenities designed just for them, said Stephanie Brown, associate director for Public Affairs. And with so much more to see indoors, we anticipate that even more tour operators will make Mount Vernon a must-see, whether its a cold snowy day or 100 degrees outside.

Mount Vernon features an 18-minute movie reenacting the defining moment of the Revolutionary War Washington crossing the Delaware River. The movie reintroduces visitors to Washington and the events that defined his leadership and character. The movie, included with admission, will be presented at the Ford Orientation Center in rotation in two adjacent theaters with total seating for 450 viewers.

After seeing the movie, guests can engage in interactive galleries and media displays, including short films produced by The History Channel and different multi-sensory experiences. Three life-sized models created by a team of artists and forensic and computer experts will depict Washington at three significant stages of his life, including as a land-surveying teenager.

In the museum, hundreds of objects will be on display in six permanent galleries and one changing exhibition space. Visitors will view furnishings, china, silver, clothing, jewelry, Revolutionary War artifacts, rare books and manuscripts, and other personal effects of the Washington family. Many of these treasures will be exhibited at Mount Vernon for the first time in the new museum, which will be five times larger than the Estates current exhibition space.

Government Auctions: More for Less

Government Auctions: More for Less by Bobby Wellman

Let's start by posing a few questions. What is the difference between the person driving a Mercedes and the person driving a Kia? What is the difference between the person who rents and the person who owns their own home? What is the difference between the person who rides a Huffy mountain bike and the person who rides a Suzuki Hyabusa 1000? I'll wait, let me you a minute to ponder these questions. What did you come up with?

If you said that one person has more money than the other, sorry to tell you, but you're wrong. If you said that they both wanted to have different things, you're still wrong. Or did you say that one person is smarter than the other, close but still wrong. The difference is that one person knows exactly where to shop to maximize every dollar that he has and the other person does not. Hear me out on this.

You see, for what ever reason most people always assume that the only way to purchase the things that they want is from private and commercial vendors (online stores, physical stores, dealerships, pawn shops, flea markets, retail shops, etc.). When dealing with these vendors, everything is priced so high (to compensate for commisssions, storage fees, and other middle-man costs) that the average person decides that they cannot afford whatever it is that they really want so, for most of their lives, they settle for less and buy something that they appear to be able to afford. Sound familiar? And then you have those people, who we will now call 'Informed Buyers' who discoverd that the US Government and it's affiliates are also vendors.

The FBI, IRS, DEA, financial institutions and other federal agencies, also the local police seize and take away millions of dollars worth of tangible items from people and businesses alike for whatever reason (tax evasion, repo, fruad, illegal activities, etc.) on a monthly basis. Items like cars, trucks, R/V's, semi trucks, motorcycles, boats, homes, fine jewelry, furniture, electronics and just about anything else you can think of. They then have to pay to store all of these items at storage facilities which are owned by individual companies. The government has no use for all of this stuff so they want to sell fast to keep there cost down, and the only way to sell it fast is to sell cheap, and this is where you and I can make out like fat cats. Nothing they sell sells for market value, NOTHING. You can literally purchase thousands of items for pennies on the dollar and all you need to do is to get access to the list so that you can know where the next auction will be held in your area and what items will be for sale at that auction.

As I said before, many vendors, including car dealers depend on you not being aware of this fact thus making a killing off of the mis-informed. You are now beginning to become an 'Informed Buyer' and you now have an opportunity to begin to shop like it. It is a fact that the 'Average Joe' will spend thousands more on mediocre products than the 'Informed Buyer' would spend on the most luxurious of products.

There are several online auctions sites that will provide you with lists of the thousands of items for sale each week through the government auctions whether online or live. However, Gov-auctions.org is by far the best so I have no desire to even mention the names of any of the other sites. For just a one time access fee of $39, you get access to every auction in every state every day, if you check around you'll see that you could easily pay $50 or even $60 at some other site. Plus, the customer service is absolutely awesome at Gov-auctions.org and they will provide you with a free 5-day comprehensive course on buying with these online auctions which no other site is offering. It's great for someone who is new to government online auctions and will really assist you in making a smart buy, which is also my reasoning behind writing this article.

I have bought 7 vehicles for myself and for a couple of my close friends. Two of the cars I bought, a 2002 Chevy Impala and a 2005 Nissan Altima, I actually sold locally and profited almost $9,000 from the sell of them. I've told you before on other posts that I'm an old used car dog and I've buying and selling with these online auctions for about 5 months now and I'll never buy from anywhere else. So I myself have a few tips that you will find helpful when bidding at these auctions. If you would like for me to send you my free personal tips for shopping at online and live auctions, email me at the address on this page and I'll disclose of them individually rather than publically.

So, after reading the information in this article, if you want to spend $10,000 on your next vehicle, are you going to settle for a Kia because you appear to be able to afford it, or will you stop settling and start getting what you want as a 'Informed Buyer'? I thought so. Good luck dear friends in all of you future purchases and be sure to make a smart buy.

Loose Cubic Zirconia Stones: Understand Grades of Quality before Ordering Wholesale by Chris Robertson

Loose Cubic Zirconia Stones: Understand Grades of Quality before Ordering Wholesale by Chris Robertson
As a new jewelry retailer, you might be tempted to order wholesale loose cubic zirconia stones based on price alone. Unfortunately, extremely low prices can sometimes mean low quality as well. It's important to know what type of loose cubic zirconia to look for before buying wholesale. Understand the grades of quality before you place an order so you and your customers will be happy with the finished jewelry product. How Loose Cubic Zirconia Quality is Determined There are four main factors that help determine the quality or grade of cubic zirconia. These are carat (or carat weight), clarity, color, and cut. CZ stones are imitation diamonds or simulants and are measured in carat weight. Loose cubic zirconia stones are always heavier than real diamonds. This is because the materials that are used to create the stones are denser. Though loose cubic zirconia stones are generally colorless, many shades of colors can be added using trace elements during the manufacturing process. These colors might include lavender, peridot, pink, violet, champagne, aqua, citrine yellow, and others. Typically, transparent cubic zirconia will be the more valuable, high-end diamond imitation. Colored CZ stones are valued according to the rarity, evenness, and tone of their colors. Clarity, or clearness, of loose cubic zirconia is also a quality factor. The manufacturing process can sometimes cloud a stone, making visible imperfections. Just as with genuine diamonds, the clearer the stone is, the greater the value. The cut is also very important in determining quality for loose cubic zirconia stones. Just as with diamonds, the cut reveals the stone's beauty through every facet. The facets must be even and precise to create just the right appearance. Also as with diamonds, the skill of the stone cutter makes all the difference. Stone cutters do much more than cut. They analyze the stone carefully to determine how much of the stone should be cut off to give proper clarity. Then, they take many steps to perfect their cut without taking away from the stone. Though the Brilliant cut is the standard, there are other popular cuts such as the Trillion, Princess, and Radiant cuts. There are also a variety of shapes to give each stone its own unique personality. CZ Stone Hardness Loose cubic zirconia stones are harder than other gemstones, but not harder than diamonds, sapphires, rubies, or chrysoberyl. Hardness is determined by Mohs' scale of hardness. The highest grade of cubic zirconia is AAAAA, which measures 8.5 in hardness on the Mohs' scale. Grades of White Cubic Zirconia White cubic zirconia stones are graded for quality. These resemble genuine diamonds. They are graded as A, AAA, and AAAAA with cubic zirconia AAAAA being the highest grade. CZ AAA stones are the most popular among jewelry stores because they still offer great quality at affordable prices. Prices range from $22 upwards for beautiful jewelry pieces of this grade. When buying wholesale for your jewelry store, check out the quality of the loose cubic zirconia stones you are buying. Be sure you are getting what you pay for and the quality that will please your customers. Whether ordering loose cubic zirconia (or lab created gems), simulated stones, or synthetic gems, consider the quality of the jewelry items you are buying and choose only those items that will give lasting enjoyment.

Indian bridal jewelry from head to toe by Harpreet Vohra

Indian bridal jewelry from head to toe by Harpreet Vohra
Girls just love weddings. They consider it as one of the most important days of their lives. Some of them even start thinking about their dream weddings when they are old enough to know what a wedding is all about. Among the girls all over the world, it must be the Indian girls who love to associate Indian bridal jewelry with their wedding daydreams. This is because in India, the jewelry is an essential part of any woman's wedding day. The Indian tradition calls for brides to be decked with Indian bridal jewelry from head to toe. All the pieces of jewelry would have to complement each other as well as the outfit that the Indian bride is wearing.
Indian bridal jewelry does not have to mean the ones that are worn during the wedding day only but also on the engagement party that an Indian bride-to-be might be having before her big day. The Indian bridal jewelry would have to include earrings, nose rings, necklaces, bracelets or bangles as well as anklets and other possible adornments of the body that could be made with precious stones. These jewelries could be made of the most precious gems like diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds among others, set in gold, silver or platinum. Whatever the type of Indian bridal jewelry, brides would want them to fit the colors of the outfit that she will be wearing on both her engagement and her wedding day.
It is expected though that the Indian bridal jewelry that will be worn on a bride-to-be's engagement party would be different than the ones that will adorn her body on her wedding day. During the engagement party, the jewelry would have to be less heavy and simpler in design. It is not uncommon for Indian brides to have their Indian bridal jewelry for both their engagement and wedding dates to be designed specifically for them. This is especially true for those who are rich and extravagant in their tastes of jewelry.
They would have different sets of Indian bridal jewelry for both occasions custom-designed preferably by known jewelry designers. For the engagement, it is accepted that the bride-to-be will wear just a one piece of jewelry like an elaborately designed necklace embedded with precious stones. In other times though this piece of Indian bridal jewelry would be complemented with earrings that are simply designed but is equally opulent in terms of the appliquéd stones as well as with a bracelet of the same design or precious stone embellishments.
On the wedding date itself, the bride would wear the heavy Indian bridal jewelry that she had made. These Indian bridal jewelry generally consists of the Maangtika or that piece of Indian bridal jewelry that most if not all Indian brides wear on their heads, the necklace, the nose ring, the earrings, the waistband, the anklets and the rings for the toes as well as the bangles worn on the arm.
The Maangtika is generally designed for the bride herself and will go well with the other jewelry that will adorn her body. The other pieces of jewelry that make the entire Indian bridal jewelry are designed according to the colors of the wedding trousseau. While it is okay to be understated when it comes to the colors of the precious gems embedded in the Indian bridal jewelry, Indian brides most often than not go for eye-catching pieces that are bold in colors. For the Indian bride, the most opulent the Indian bridal jewelry is, the better.

Choosing Your Engagement And Wedding Rings by Copyright ©2007 Carl DiNello

Choosing Your Engagement And Wedding Rings by Copyright ©2007 Carl DiNello
The choosing and exchanging of wedding rings is steeped in tradition and highly symbolic. The strength of the metal which comprises the makeup of the wedding ring symbolizes the strength of the bond between the bride and the groom. The wedding ring, having no beginning or end, is also a symbol of your undying love.
You will enter into marriage with the hope that you will have your rings for the remainder of your lives. These lifetime symbols of love are often passed on to the couple's children.
The Engagement Ring Selection
For most men, the shopping for an engagement ring may be a little scary. Men, not being as well-versed on the subject of diamonds and jewelry as most women, can be a little uncomfortable investing a great deal of money in something they know so little about.
Here are a few suggestions that may help:
* While many couples today will shop for an engagement ring together, there are still a great many men who prefer the old-fashioned way of choosing an engagement ring themselves. A man who prefers this method doesn't have to go into it blind. Paying enough attention to his future fiance can go a long way toward helping him to make the right engagement ring choice. Chances are, even though the man has intended this to be a surprise, it is very likely that she knows something is up, and more than likely has dropped a few hints as to the kind of engagement ring she would like.
* If you haven't done so already, take notice of the jewelry she currently wears. Is it mostly silver, or white gold? This information alone can help identify her preference.
* Don't be too embarrassed to ask a sister, her girlfriends, or even her mother for advice. They may offer some very useful suggestions. For instance, would she prefer a large solitaire stone, or perhaps she likes smaller diamonds on each side of the ring? What about the shape of the stone? Would she prefer an oval, pear, or round shaped stone?
* Stay away from any supposedly "great diamond deals". Make sure you go to a reputable jeweler who is certified by the Jewelers of America (JA), and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). A lesser priced stone from a mall vendor will most certainly be of a lesser quality. A reputable jeweler will provide you with a diamond-grading report from the GIA that will provide truthful information on the size, clarity, and shape of the diamond. In addition, any imperfections in the stone will also be pointed out.
Selecting The Wedding Bands
Most couples at the time of the engagement ring purchase already have a pretty good idea of the type of wedding band they would like. It may be a simple gold band, or a wedding band with an ornate design. Diamonds, or other gemstones may also be added to the band. However, this option will be at an additional cost.
What color should the band be? The most common are yellow gold, white gold, and platinum. The most traditional metal for the wedding band is yellow gold; but, white gold and platinum are gaining in popularity. While it is difficult to tell the visual difference between white gold and platinum due to their similar silver color, the platinum ring will be heavier with the metal being harder and more durable.
While many couples prefer matching wedding rings, this is not mandatory. There is a good chance that you and your significant other will have different tastes in jewelry. The important thing is that you both choose a wedding ring you like and will be comfortable wearing.

Six Ways To Save A Fortune On Engagement Rings by Shayne McMillan

Six Ways To Save A Fortune On Engagement Rings by Shayne McMillan
Engagement rings can be one of the biggest purchases a buyer will make for his or her partner. Not only is it expensive, but it can be emotionally nerve-racking as well. Couples who are overwhelmed by the task of buying an engagement ring just want to buy the "best" they could see in the jewelry store and get over it, without making wise decisions and thus, regretting the purchase later.
If you are tight on a budget and would like to save on engagement rings but would like to buy a nice one, here are some tips worth considering.
1. Buy a ring which can be upgraded later. You do not have to buy an expensive-looking ring now, if you will be left You can buy the stones of your choice and use your mom' or granny's band, and have the stones set it.
2. If you will buy your wedding ring from the same store, ask if you can have a discount later so you will have savings.
3. Consider using your credit card to charge you for the engagement ring to earn more points that will be converted for your honeymoon trip. 4. How about plain bands? They are less costly than those with stones. 5. Consider using your partner's birth stone as the stone on his/her engagement ring in place of more expensive stones.
6. If you really cannot afford it, buy a zirconium ring first and commit to buy a real engagement ring on your anniversary. It will be all the more cherished with the passing of time.

Roman Artifact Discoveries in Bulgaria by Anat Resnick

Roman Artifact Discoveries in Bulgaria by Anat Resnick
Recently, a number of Roman artifacts were discovered in regions of Bulgaria.
One of the {a href= http://www.sitesandphotos.com/news.php?actions=details&id=75}Roman artifact discoveries was a stone sarcophagus holding unique gold jewelry and ceramic and glass utensils. The sarcophagus has been found in the Raykova mound near the village of Stroyno, Bulgaria, Sofia news agency {a href= http://www.novinite.com/view_news.php?id=82412}Novinite reported on June 28th.
A sarcophagus (a Greek word meaning "flesh eater") refers to a container, or coffin, in which a body was placed for interment in Greek and Roman times. Sarcophagi (the plural) were usually made by being carved, decorated or built ornately. Some were built to be freestanding above ground, as a part of an elaborate tomb or tombs. Others were made for burial, or were placed in crypts
This sarcophagus, a {a href= http://www.sitesandphotos.com/news.php?actions=details&id=75}Roman artifact discovered by Bulgarian archaeologists headed by Professor Daniela Agre of the National Institute of Archaeology and Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Science, also contained the cremated bones of a woman. The archaeologists believe the woman belonged to an affluent family of the Roman Era, and was probably buried in the 1st or 2nd century. Excavation of the mound continues.
A separate {a href= http://www.sitesandphotos.com/news.php?actions=details&id=75}Roman artifact discovery has occured in a tomb excavated by Bulgarian archaeologist Georgi Kitov. The tomb, containing Roman era jewelry and other artifacts, dates from the 1st century AD and is located in southeastern Bulgaria. The artifacts discovered so far consist of two pairs of gold earrings, five rings, a ritual coin and a semi-precious stone. They will be handed over to Silven region's History Museum.
